At the meeting of the TUESDAY LUNCH CLUB in May, 37 people – members and helpers – enjoyed a delicious meal. This month the main course consisted of cod in breadcrumbs with new potatoes and peas with a vegetarian option of stuffed red pepper. For dessert there was spiced ginger and pear pudding with cream and this was followed by tea or coffee and mints.

Scenes from our May Fair

Our very successful May Fair took place on Monday 2nd May, with lots of visitors enjoying a great selection of stalls including plants, books, nail painting, home made cakes and lots more. Refreshments included the ever popular BBQ, organised by the scouts and entertainment was provided by the Bishop Ramsey Jazz Band. A fun day resulted in a profit of approximately £6,000 so well done to the organisation group and thanks to all our visitors.

The Film Club meeting in April began with a clip of the ABC Juniors arriving for their weekly show, reminding some members of Saturday mornings spent at the cinema.  when they were youngsters. There followed a selection of short films including, Abbot & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, Ruislip & Eastcote in earlier days and the show ended with a colourful miscellany of extracts showing the Queen, accompanied by a playing of the National Anthem, in true cinema tradition.
