Sunday Morning Youth
On a non-family service week, the young people will leave the service to have a more youth tailored session with the Youth Team leading it. The sessions will be based on the lectionary reading of the day. It will likely be largely discussion based with a shorter talk than in the main service, and there will always be pastries and juice, after all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Ignite is the Youth Club we run for Youth in Years 7+8.
Year 7+8 is a very tricky time in the lives of most young people, with the transition from Primary School into High School. It is a time when Churches will often notice a drop in attendance, as children become more independent, and feel able to make the decision to either engage or not engage with the church. The drop in attendance is often attributed to the Children in question feeling out of place or in-between being considered a Child or a Young Person.
Ignite is there to offer a place for these Children who feel in the inbetween. We meet fortnightly on a Sunday night at 5:30pm. We play games, eat snacks and will pray together.
Every Sunday evening we run a youth group for school years 9-11 at St Lawrence's between 6:30pm and 7:30pm, lovingly titled by the young people "Nowhere Special". At youth club, we play games, chat and generally just "Hang Out" in the upstairs "Youth Room" of the Church Hall.
If you're interested in coming along you will need to fill out a medical information form available from Dan Bishop on a Sunday Morning.
