Who are we?
St Lawrence Church is a church for all; we welcome people of all ages, genders,
backgrounds, races and sexualities. We value the ministry of women and men and
we offer opportunities for worship and fellowship not only on Sundays but
throughout the week.
We are a parish within the Modern Anglo-Catholic tradition. People have different
ways of praising God, and we try to reflect that in the different Services that take
place at St Lawrence. For more information please see "Services".
We aim to ensure that everyone is made to feel really welcome at St Lawrence
Church - but we know from experience that walking into any church for the first time
can seem daunting. If you want to come along, there will be people at the entrance
who will be ready to hand you a service sheet, help you find a seat and answer
any questions you might have. If you would like more detailed information on the
Parish and area of Eastcote, please see our "Parish Profile".
What do we believe?
We believe in One God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in One God: Creator, Saviour and Sustainer of life.
We believe that God loves everyone and everything that He created; and that we are called to do the same.
We believe that we can meet Jesus Christ through the Bible, the Sacraments of the Church (such as the taking of the Bread and Wine), and through other acts of Worship. We believe that, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can follow Christ’s example and reach out in love to all; in particular to the vulnerable, the weak, the
poor, and the oppressed, remembering His commandments:
“Love the Lord your God” and “Love your neighbour as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31)
